Atlanta Falcons Fantasy Spin
Matt Ryan completed 27-of-43 passes for 320 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in the Falcons' Week 2 win over the Eagles. With the run game getting shut down, the Falcons went pass heavy against the Eagles, allowing Ryan to throw it 40-plus times for the second straight week. Ryan attacked Eagles CB Ronald Darby most of the night, throwing for just under half of his yards and two of his touchdowns against him. It was another uneven game from Ryan, who mixed in three picks between his TDs. Ryan has been turnover prone to start the year, with five interceptions through the first two games. He'll be a mid-range QB1 for a matchup with the Colts in Week 3.
Indianapolis Colts Fantasy Spin
Marlon Mack (calf) remained sidelined on Thursday. The Herald Bulletin still thinks there is a "decent chance" Mack suits up against the Falcons, but the clock is ticking. Another Friday "DNP" would almost certainly mean Mack sits. Week 3 running back desperados need to have Jordan Wilkins holstered and ready.
NFL Betting Trends
Atlanta
The under is 7-3 in the Falcons’ last 10 games overall and is 9-4 in their last 13 road games.
Indianapolis
The under is 15-6 in the Colts’ last 21 home games and is 8-3 in their last 11 games overall.
Prediction
The Falcons are loaded offensively again this season, but Matt Ryan has already thrown five interceptions in two games and his arm strength looks like it continues to diminish. Meanwhile, the Colts have shown plenty of grit the first two games of the season and will continue to lean on Mack and their defense. Speaking of defense, Atlanta beat on Carson Wentz last Sunday night and while the Eagles were banged up throughout the game, the Falcons still looked good on that side of the ball. This matchup has sneaky defensive struggle potential.
