Steelers vs. Chiefs Prediction

Steelers vs. Chiefs NFL Divisional Round Playoffs Predictions 1/15/17

Will the Steelers cover as a small road underdog tonight when they visit the Chiefs at 8:20PM ET in the NFL Divisional round of the playoffs?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Chiefs are 2-point home favorites versus the Steelers after Pittsburgh opened as a 1-point favorite at some online sports books. As for the total, the number hit the board at 46.5 before dropping a full two points to 44.5.

PITTSBURGH KEY TRENDS: The Steelers are 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games, are 6-1-1 against the number in their last eight games overall, and are 5-1-1 at the betting window in their last seven conference games. They're also 0-3-2 at the betting window in their last five playoff road games and are just 1-3-2 against the spread in their last six postseason contests.

KANSAS KEY TRENDS: The Chiefs are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games against a team with a winning record and are 4-1 against the number in their last five conference games. That said, they're 1-7 against the spread in their last eight playoff games and are winless at 0-4 at the betting window in their last four home playoff games.

OUR PREDICTION: Everyone focuses on the three-headed monster of Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown, and rightfully so. That said, the Steelers' defense and offensive line don't get enough credit for the team's current winning streak. With Pittsburgh's offensive line intact, it can slow down Kansas City's outstanding pass-rush. And with the Steelers' defense playing the way it is now, they have the pieces to keep Alex Smith, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce from killing them routinely. It won't be easy and I expect this game to come down to the wire, but I like the dog.
