Astros fall in rest game
Houston rolled out the 'B' squad Wednesday afternoon in a 3-1 loss at the Blue Jays. Jake Marisnick was 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run from the leadoff spot. Carlos Correa was one starter who remained in the lineup and he was 1-for-4 with the lone RBI. Myles Straw ended the contest 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Chris Devenski suffered the loss as he gave up two earned runs on one hit with two strikeouts and a walk over two innings.
O's split doubleheader in Boston
After being rained out on Tuesday, the Orioles played a doubleheader at the Red Sox yesterday and were smashed 19-3 in the afternoon game. In the nightcap, Baltimore rebounded with a 10-3 victory. Trey Mancini hit a solo home run and Renato Nunez contributed a 2-run homer for the offense in the first game. Joey Rickard was 2-for-3 with a double. Ryan Meisinger suffered the loss as he was shelled for five earned runs on four hits with no strikeouts and one walk in one-third of an inning. In the second game, Baltimore broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the seventh inning before adding four insurance runs in the ninth. Mancini was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and three RBIs. Adam Jones went a perfect 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Nunez was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Caleb Joseph finished 2-for-5 with a double and two runs.
Cole (15-5, 2.92 ERA) draws the start today for the Astros, while Baltimore will go with David Hess (3-10, 5.14).
