Angels held to two hits

Los Angeles struggled offensively Thursday night in a series opener at Boston as it fell 2-0. Shohei Ohtani led the way as he finished 1-for-3 with a double. Mike Trout went 1-for-4. Sale dominant in win

Chris Sale struck out 13 over eight shutout innings Thursday night in a 2-0 home victory for Boston over Los Angeles. Sale allowed only hits hits and walked none in the outstanding effort. Brandon Workman recorded his seventh save as he struck out two over a perfect inning. Sandy Leon helped lead the Red Sox offense as went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Sam Travis ended the game 1-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. J.D. Martinez went 2-for-3 with a run scored. MLB Betting Trends

Los Angeles

The Angels are 2-9 in their last 11 Friday games. Los Angeles is 0-6 in its last six road games.

Boston

The Red Sox are 2-9 in their last 11 games overall. Boston is 1-4 in the last Johnson starts.

Prediction:

With both pitchers performing poorly this season and the offenses looking to rebound after a poor night, I'm going to bet on a shootout here with plenty of runs scored. Rather than having to back a very httable pitcher in Johnson, I'd rather go with the over and bet on both teams' offense.
