Rays hit six homers in game two
After dropping the early game 2-1 Saturday afternoon, Tampa Bay rebounded with a 12-4 victory at Baltimore in game two of the doubleheader. Michael Brosseau led the way offensively for the Rays as he went 3-for-5 with two home runs, and three RBIs. Tommy Pham finished 2-for-5 with a homer, a double and two RBIs. Yandy Diaz ended the contest 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored. Nate Lowe was 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs. Charlie Morton picked up the win as he gave up two earned runs on six hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Ryne Stanek will be the opening for Tampa Bay today as he comes in with an 0-2 record, 3.26 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 54 strikeouts over 49 2/3 innings.
O's prevail in opener
Prior to losing the nightcap 12-4, Baltimore won the first game of Saturday's doubleheader by a score of 2-1 at home Tampa Bay. Stevie Wilkerson hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to propel the Orioles to the win. It was his only hit in three at-bats. Anthony Santander helped pace the Baltimore offense as he finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Jonathan Villar ended the contest 2-for-3. Richard Bleier picked up the win in relief as he walked one in a scoreless frame. Mychal Givens threw two spotless innings with two strikeouts to earn the save. The Orioles have not yet decided on their starting pitcher for Sunday.
MLB Betting Trends
Tampa Bay
The Rays are 4-0 in their last four in game four of a series. Tampa Bay is 5-0 in the last five Stanek Sunday starts.
Baltimore
The Orioles are 14-38 in their last 52 home games. Baltimore is 5-17 in its last 22 Sunday games.
Prediction:
Tampa Bay has perfected the opener system and will be turning to Ryan Yarbrough as the bulk reliever. With Baltimore not yet having announced its starter, that only makes me like the Rays more. Andrew Cashner was traded to Boston Saturday, leaving a spot open in the O's rotation. With the prospects for the Orioles as bleak as anyone right now, look for Tampa Bay to take advantage.
