Dodgers vs. Rockies, 4/2/21 MLB Betting Predictions & DFS Notes

The Dodgers dropped their season opener to the Rockies on Thursday but will try to even their record at 1-1 when they visit Colorado at 8:40 p.m. ET on Friday night. Is the under a safe play despite the game being played at Coors?

Los Angeles Dodgers DFS Spin

Cody Bellinger went 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored and was credited with an RBI single as the Dodgers dropped their Opening Day matchup against the Rockies on Thursday. “Credited with an RBI single” is probably the best way to describe it, as it occurred on one of the strangest plays we’ve seen in a minute. In the top of the third inning, Bellinger appeared to smack an opposite-field two-run homer over the outstretched glove of Raimel Tapia in left field, but Justin Turner thought the ball was caught and they ended up passing each other on the basepaths. As such, he didn’t get credit for the two-run homer, only an RBI single. Tough luck, fantasy managers. Still, it was nice to see him go yard, even if he didn’t get full credit. While Bellinger is coming back from surgery surgery, he remains a strong bet to rebound from a mildly disappointing 2020 campaign.

Colorado Rockies DFS Spin

C.J. Cron went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored in the Rockies’ win over the Dodgers on Thursday. Cron actually had some tough luck on the double, as it bounced over the wall for a ground-rule double and forced Charlie Blackmon to stop at third base, robbing him of a potential RBI. Still, it was a nice debut for the Rockies’ new first baseman. Cron was limited to 13 games last year due to a fractured knee cap, but he slugged 55 homers between 2018-2019 and could be headed for his best season yet by virtue of playing his home games at Coors Field.

Dodgers vs. Rockies Betting Prediction

The under is 5-2-1 in their last eight meetings between these two teams in Colorado and is 6-1-1 in the Dodgers’ last eight games when the total has been set at 11.0 runs or higher. On the other side, the under is 6-2-2 in the Rockies’ last 10 home games and is 7-3-2 in their last 12 games after allowing five runs or more in their previous game.

MLB BETTING PREDICTION: DODGERS/ROCKIES UNDER 11.5
