Which golfer will come away with the major championship and win the 2018 U.S. Open this weekend? Here’s three golfers we like to contend.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win, as he is listed with 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (14/1), Justin Rose (14/1) and Justin Thomas (14/1). Tiger Woods is listed with 16/1 odds. The U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.

Dustin Johnson 8/1

DJ is back in the No. 1 spot in the world rankings and coming off a win last weekend. He has made all 11 cuts this year and has seven top-10 finishes. Johnson has only finished outside the top 20 once this year. The U.S. Open has been arguably his best major, as he won in 2016 and has finished in the top 5 three of the last four years. He missed the cut in 2017, but had a really poor major campaign in 2017. This year he was 10^th at The Masters and I think he pushes for the win this weekend.

Justin Thomas 14/1

Thomas is the one that took the top ranking from Johnson for a brief amount of time. It’s hard to argue that anyone has had a better last 12 months than him. Thomas has picked up six wins since 2017 started, including his first major. He has finished 22^nd or better in his last 15 tournaments, including two wins. Thomas finished ninth at last year’s U.S. Open and he has been in the top 22 in four of the last five majors. Look for Thomas to continue his strong run this weekend.

Tommy Fleetwood 40/1

Fleetwood seems primed to win his first major championship soon. He has climbed up to 12^th in the world rankings and has four top-10 finishes this year with one victory. He has only missed one cut and is consistently in the top 25. When it comes to majors, Fleetwood has finished 27^th or better in three of the last four. That includes a fourth-place finish at last year’s U.S. Open. He was also 27^th in the U.S. Open when he debuted in 2015. I think Fleetwood is a great dark horse option this weekend that could provide a huge payout.
