Still undecided on who I like today. So I am sending a call out to the loyal visitor base to help me decide. The majority decides my bets today. Post your best side selection and your best total selection.

Good morning MC. TB has been good to me this season but I just can't see them winning this game. The old guys on their last leg will play and inspire the younger players. I look for a 10 pt Raider win. TB should score 17-20 pts so I will be on the over. GLTA..Old Timer

Oakland takes the early lead...

I'm not placing my bets till about 3:30 unless I get word there will be a big line shift. (which I doubt) . Still plenty of time to chime in and help me with a pick.

As for the Superbowl...Falcon has a 4* on the Raiders and I agree. However, if this game were being played in the regular season, I would watch and enjoy without having a wager. But hell, it's the Superbowl, so we have to have a little something on it, right?

I know many are on the Bucs...I see plenty of services on them. Most are saying that "defense wins championships" and normally I would agree. Recent results would prove this theory to be correct. Just last year, New England handled the high octane offense of the Rams. Before that, the amazing defense of the Baltimore Ravens totally shut down the Giants. But I think things may be different this time.

I am looking at some intangibles today. First and foremost, I think that the Raiders are very well rested and ready for this match-up. Since they played in Miami on December 15th, this Raiders squad has not had to leave the state of California. Since losing to Miami, they have played 4 consecutive games at home. Now they make the short road trip to San Diego. As far as Tampa Bay is concerned, since December 1st, they have played AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY, HOME, AWAY...and now AWAY in San Diego. That's a lot of travel for Tampa.

I also look for the experience of Gannon, Rice, Woodson, Garner, Romanowski and Brown to make a difference today. I can't see this team being together again next year, and I think they all know this to be true. This may be their last shot.

While the Bucs get plenty of credit for their defense and coaching, I can't ignore the Raiders in these areas. Oakland has given up an average of 14.2 points per game in their last 7...not too bad. Although Gruden is an excellent coach, I can't see that Callahan has done much to make anyone believe that he doesn't belong in this league.

All this being said, I will take the Raiders. I have no problem going with the experience of the Raiders and the MVP of the league. However, it's a regular wager for me...nothing more.

Good luck today. Remember, it's just one game...don't overbet it simply because it's the Superbowl.
