Youngstown St is off a close loss and they are a terrible 4-17 to the spread after scoring 90 or more and 2-8 ats after allowing 90 or more. They have failed to cover 4 of the last 5 vs teams with a .600 or better win percentage. Look for Wright St to cover. We have an opinion on VMI plus the points on Monday. Western Carolina is in uncharted waters on Monday night. The Catamounts are 7-10 SU on the season, but are laying points for only the second time and won just one of their seven games by enough points to cover this number, a win over Hiwassee College of the National Christian College Athletic Association. Scary part about that win is that WCU led by just two points at the half. Western is laying a lot of points for a team that makes less than 40 percent of their shots and ranks 341st in FG percentage. They can't shoot free throws and average just 67.7 ppg and we expect double digits to be a tough number to cover for a team with such poor offensive numbers. The numbers on the defensive end aren't any better. The VMI Keydets have their own issues to deal with, but in many of the same categories where WCU struggles. Like the Catamounts, they average just over 65 ppg. We feel this one could very well be a "first team to 65 wins," which gives us an opinion on the team getting double digits. Bucks vs. Wizards

The Milwaukee Bucks took a 97-79 beating at Miami on Sunday, but I think they'll show up here at Washington the next day instead. Playing on no rest is not an issue for this Milwaukee team which is 12-3-1 ATS in its last 16 games playing on no rest and it defeated the Wizards 110-103 here at Capital One Arena nine days ago.
Note that Milwaukee held John Wall and Andy Beal, Washington's top scorers, to 12-of-38 shooting from the field in the first meeting while the Wizards failed to contain Giannis Antetokounmpo who finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds, and I expect him to dominate once again today.
Washington is coming off a pair of victories against Orlando and Brooklyn, but note that the Wizards are 0-5 ATS in their last five games.

NBA | Heat vs Bulls

I'll take my chances here with Chicago at basically a pick'em at home against the Heat. The Bulls continue to be undervalued by the books. While they are just 16-27 on the season, they are 13-7 over their last 20 games. A stretch that has coincided with Nikola Mirotic's season debut. Last time out they beat the Pistons with a similar line at home and in that game they got their first taste of Zack LaVine, who had been recovering from a torn ACL. While the minutes were limited, LaVine played extremely well. He had's even more athleticism and 3-point shooting to this roster. Miami has won 7 straight, but are in a prime letdown spot playing on no rest after a big blowout win at home over the Bucks last night. Chicago on the other hand is playing just their 2nd game in 5 days and are 10-1 ATS in this spot this season. Give me the Bulls -1!

Jack’s Free Pick Monday: Detroit Pistons -2.5
The Detroit Pistons are showing great value as only 2.5-point home favorites over the Charlotte Hornets this morning. The Pistons are far and away the better team this year at 22-19 compared to 16-25 for the Hornets. They should be bigger home favorites here Monday.
The Pistons have one of the more underrated home-court advantages in the league. They are 13-5 at home this season. They should have a raucous home crowd supporting them here on MLK Day, which means more in Detroit than in most cities.
The Hornets just haven’t been able to get anything going this season. Losing head coach Steve Clifford didn’t help matters. But the Hornets are just 5-13 on the road this season. It makes zero sense why they are getting this kind of respect from oddsmakers today.
Home-court advantage has been huge in this series between Detroit and Charlotte. Indeed, the home team is 9-1 SU & 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The favorite is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings. Detroit is 10-1 ATS in home games off an upset loss as a road favorite over the last three seasons. Bet the Pistons Monday.

NCAA-B | Maryland vs Michigan

Michigan is coming off a huge huge win over their rival Michigan St and they did it on the Spartans home court. This is obviously a huge let down spot here for Michigan and while they may win the game SU I don't see them blowing Maryland out. Maryland has 3 conference losses, but they are all to the top teams in Purdue, Michigan St and Ohio St. 7 points is too many here tonight.

NCAA-B | Florida State vs Boston College

If you have watched this Florida St team you would know they aren't a Top 25 team at all. They survived in OT at home against a bad Syracuse which they made a come back and were lucky. They also were lucky to beat North Carolina by 1. Those are their 2 conference wins as they could easily be 0-5.
Boston College is a remarkable 10-1 at home with their only loss coming against Clemson in which they covered. They have a sneaky good home court which isn't being taken into consideration remember they gave Duke their first loss of the season
