Sport: NBA Basketball
Game: Utah Jazz @ San Antonio Spurs - Friday December 7, 2007 9:30 pm
Pick: 3 units (Normal) TOTAL: Over 200 (-108)

Do not be fooled by the argument this game should be a defensive battle. The Jazz are furious from their lost last season and this team hopes to show that they have improved as they have lost 19 straight games to the Spurs in the regular season. The Jazz have Boozer back healthy and with the addition of Brewer along with more experience, this team looks to defeat a Spurs team that might not have Duncan. The Jazz have gone under the radar with their over totals as they have gone over the last 6 ballgames, the last 6 of 7 in this series have gone over and the Spurs did score 97 yesterday against Dallas - but take out the first quarter where they got their feet wet without Duncan, they would have averaged a total of 108 points. With Duncan possibly being out, this opens up even more jump shots for Manu, Bowen and Barry. The over is 13-2 when the Jazz face a team with a winning home record and the over is 6-1 when the Jazz face a team with a winning record.

Sport: College Basketball
Game: Oregon State Beavers @ California Davis Aggies - Friday December 7, 2007 10:00 pm
Pick: 3 units (Play of the Day) ATS: California Davis Aggies +2.5 (-112)

I actually have UC Davis winning this game outright as I have this team #110th in my power rankings facing a Oregon State team that I have ranked outside the top 160. This is the power of having a power ranking spreadsheet as I used it to our benefit when Northeastern easily covered against Connecticut as their power rankings only differed by 50 slots which doesn't merit a 16 poi spread. Such is the case today in UC Davis who faces a Oregon State team with 70% of the public on them, yet it is UC Davis that is undefeated at home. This team is 4-4, guess where all the wins come at - at home. This team beat a very good Portland team who leads their division and will now play an Oregon State team that lost on the road to Alaska Fairbanks who if I am not mistaken, are not even a Division 1 School. This team even lost to Dartmouth and Brown, 2 teams I follow closely in the Ivy and I think UC Davis ends up rolling today as the Oregon State Beavers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games.

Sport: NBA Basketball
Game: Chicago Bulls @ Detroit Pistons - Friday December 7, 2007 7:00 pm
Pick: 3 units (Normal) TOTAL: Over 183.5 (-110)

I believe the Bulls will show up tonight. Despite Detroit having revenge, the Bulls are playing better basketball having won their last 3 of 4 straight up and this team will get up to face their rivals in the Pistons. While many expect a low scoring ballgame, I expect this game to go over. Keep in mind that the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Detroit where the Bulls play very well and in fact, have won many games in the last few years outright in Detroit causing the games to go over (dog/over principle). The over is 5-1 when the Pistons play Divisional opponents in the NBA Central and the over is 7-2 when the Bulls are underdogs of late.

Re: Friday Service Picks and Consensus Reports:

ROCKETMAN

507 CHI 9.0 (-110)
Analysis: Detroit is 3-11 ATS last 3 years when playing against a poor offensive team scoring 91 points per game or less. Chicago is starting to play better ball after getting off to a slow start. They have won 3 of their last 4 games with their only loss being to a very good Dallas Mavericks team. Detroit is 2-7 ATS last 9 against NBA Central. We'll play Chicago for 4 units tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

515 UTA 1.0 (-110)
Analysis: San Antonio is 1-5 ATS last 3 years after an upset win as an underdog. San Antonio is 8-21 ATS since 1996 in a home game where the total is between 195 and 199 1/2. Utah is scoring 107.1 points per game overall this year and 103.7 points per game on the road this season. Tim Duncan is doubtful for tonight's game. Utah is 15-5 ATS after 6 Overs. We'll play Utah for 4 units tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

517 LAC 5.0 (-110)
Analysis: Sacramento Guard Kevin Martin is out for tonight's game. Sacramento is allowing 103.9 points per game overall this year and 100.5 points per game at home this season. Sacramento is 2-6 ATS last 8 against NBA Pacific. Road team is 14-4 ATS last 18 meetings in this series. We'll play LA Clippers for 3 units tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky

Re: Friday Service Picks and Consensus Reports:

Larry Ness
double-dime bet DET -8.0

Analysis:
The Pistons let Webber go after the end of LY's postseason and this year, moved McDyess into the starting lineup. So far so good, as Detroit is 13-5! All five starters are scoring in double digits with PF Maxiell (8.9-6.2), SF Hayes (8.5) and guard Murray (8.0) all making excellent contributions off the bench. Detroit eliminated Chicago from last season's conference semifinals in six games and both teams were expected to be back among the East's best teams this season. That has NOT been the case for Chicago. The Bulls did beat the Pistons 97-93 at Chicago on Nov 8 but it was the Bulls' first win after an 0-4 start. The Bulls failed to gain any momentum from last month's win over Detroit, losing six of their next seven, but they have played better recently with wins in three of their last four games. They are averaging 97.5 points in that span while making 44.0 percent from 3-point range, compared to an average of 86.5 points and 28.3 percent shooting from beyond the arc during their 2-10 start. Still, center Ben Wallace has been mostly a non-factor, while starting guards Gordon and Hinrich have been in season-long shooting slumps. Hinrich has been the worst offender, as his PPG are down from 16.6 to 10.1, while his FG percentage has dropped from 45 percent to 34! Gordon's point-production is down about three per game, while he's gone from 45.5 percent to 38.5 percent. Detroit enters this game on a five-game winning streak SU and ATS, outscoring opponents 108.2-86.2 PPG. Throw in some extra-motivation from that Nov 8 loss and it's "blowout city" tonight in Detroit. Weekly Wipeout Winner on the Det Pistons.
