LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - Will Alabama make the playoffs in the 2014-15 college football season? Let's check out the program's odds.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Crimson Tide currently has odds of 6/5 to make the four-team playoff this season and 5/8 to miss the postseason. This means that for every $5.00 that you wager on 'Bama making the playoffs, you'll win $6.00 if the team accomplishes the feat. If you bet on the Tide not to make the postseason then you'll win $5.00 for every $8.00 that you wager.

Outside of defending champ Florida State, no team has better odds to win the 2014-15 college football FBS championship than Alabama. While the Seminoles are 5/1 to repeat as champions, the Crimson Tide is 6/1 while Oregon is 8/1 and Auburn is 9/1. Ohio State, meanwhile, is 10/1 to win the FBS championship this season and Oklahoma is 12/1.

As usual, Nick Saban has his work cut out for him after losing a slew of players to the NFL draft. On defense, Alabama saw linebacker C.J. Mosley, safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and defensive end Ed Stinson get drafted, while Cyrus Kouandjio, A.J. McCarron and Kevin Norwood were lost on offense. Safety Vinnie Sunseri and defensive end Jeoffrey Pagan were also drafted back in May.

That said, Saban also does a fantastic job with his recruiting classes and the Tide won't be short on talent again this season. Receiver Amari Cooper, running back T.J. Yeldon and tight end O.J. Howard return on offense, while A'Shawn Robinson, Brandon Ivory and Jonathan Allen make up an improved defensive line.

Thus, it'll be hard to bet against the Tide making the playoffs this year, especially with how burned Saban looked after losing to Auburn in 2013. Alabama doesn't stay down for long.
