Will tonight's Hawks and Wizards matchup at 8:00PM ET be high-scoring for bettors?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Wizards are 7-point home favorites versus the Hawks while the over/under currently sits at 214 points, down from the original number of 212.5.

Atlanta enters play tonight having dropped seven of its last 10 games and is just 2-8 against the spread during that span. The Hawks have also lost four consecutive games, including a 105-90 defeat at Charlotte two nights ago. In the loss, Dennis Schroder led the team with 20 points and six assists, while Dwight Howard nabbed 10 boards to go along with his 13 points.

Meanwhile, Washington has won six of its last 10 games but is just 2-7-1 against the spread during that stretch. The Wizards have also lost four of their last five, including a 110-102 defeat in Boston two nights ago as a four-point underdog. The Wizards have now failed to cover the spread in five consecutive games.

OUR PREDICTION: Trusting either of these teams to cover the spread at this point is a lousy proposition and while Atlanta has struggled to score recently, the over is 17-8 in the last 25 meetings between these two teams. The over is also 4-0 in the Wizards' last four home games, is 9-2 in their last 11 games overall, and is 8-1 in their last nine games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The over is also 9-4 in the Hawks' last 13 games versus an opponent with a winning record so hopefully they can snap out of their current scoring funk and help push the combined score over the betting total tonight.
