NHL Eastern Conference Odds
(TheSpread) – The NHL Eastern Conference playoffs look to have two top contenders to win it all. Here is a look at the odds to claim the Eastern Conference title.
This year’s Eastern Conference playoffs are broken down into two subsections with each conference having two four-team brackets. There will be no re-seeding this year, as each section has seeds 1-4 and will play to completion. Each section champion will then meet in the conference finals.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Boston Bruins are favored to win the East, as they have 13/10 odds. Other short odds to win are the Pittsburgh Penguins (11/4) while three other teams have 9/1 odds.
Boston has a one seed in its region after winning the Atlantic Division. The Bruins went 54-19-9 on the season and will face the Detroit Red Wings in the opening round.
Pittsburgh is the No. 1 seed in its region after winning the Metropolitan Division. The Penguins have gone 51-24-6 this season and will face the Columbus Blue Jackets in the opening round.
The teams with 9/1 odds include Montreal, New York and Philadelphia. New York is a No. 2 seed and meets No. 3 Philadelphia in the first round. Montreal is the No. 3 seed in the other division and it faces Tampa Bay in the first round.
