Best DFS Lineups for Sunday
Are you planning on playing daily fantasy for Championship Sunday? We’ve attempted to put together the best DFS lineup for today’s title games between the Rams and Saints, and Patriots and Chiefs, with actual price points for each player.
Championship Sunday Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetNow.eu, the Saints are 3-point home favorites to beat the Rams in the NFC Championship Game while the Patriots are 3-point road underdogs to the Chiefs in the AFC title matchup. Both games have totals sitting around 56.5, although the over/under in the AFC Championship Game continues to move up and down due to the weather.
Best Fanduel Lineup
QB: Patrick Mahomes $9,000
RB: Alvin Kamara, $8,100
RB: Damien Williams, $7,200
WR: Brandin Cooks $6,900
WR: Ted Ginn Jr., $5,300
WR: Robert Woods, $7,100
TE: Tyler Higbee, $4,500
FLEX: Julian Edelman, $7,900
DEF: Patriots, $4,000
Mahomes is the best QB on the board today, projected to earn 22.7 fantasy points. We also have the No. 1 running back in Kamara, who is projected for 22.1, as well as the No. 2-rated back in Damien Williams, who is slated for 21.2 fantasy points.
We couldn’t afford the top-ranked receiver, which is Michael Thomas of the Saints. That said, Edelman is actually projected for more points than every other receiver playing on Championship Sunday and at a price point of $7,900, he’s a small value. Putting both Woods and Cooks in the same lineup is somewhat of a risk. That said, the Rams-Saints game should live up to its shootout potential and there’s enough targets in that L.A. passing game for both Woods and Cooks to have big games. As for Ginn, he’s the clear No. 2 receiver in New Orleans but he has boom potential and is a value at his price point.
The rest of the lineup is filled with risks. The Rams don’t use their tight ends much but unless you pay up for Travis Kelce of the Chiefs or Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots, you’re taking a risk at the position regardless. Ben Watson is out for the Saints, but we didn’t have enough money for Josh Hill, who will replace Watson. If Higbee finds the end zone we’ll consider ourselves fortunate. The Patriots are also a huge risk given that the Chiefs have scored no fewer than 27 points in every game this year but they’re the cheapest defense.
DraftKings DFS Lineup
QB: Drew Brees, $5,900
RB: Alvin Kamara, $6,500
RB: Damien Williams, $6,400
WR: Ted Ginn, $4,300
WR: Brandin Cooks, $5,300
WR: Robert Woods, $5,700
TE: Travis Kelce, $7,100
Flex: Julian Edelman, $6,600
DEF: Patriots, $2,100
As you can see, a lot of the players that we used for FanDuel cracked our DraftKings lineup. The biggest difference is that we were able to add Kelce, the best tight end today, by swapping Brees for Mahomes. We weren’t able to make that same combination work for FanDuel.
