Nets battling for a spot
Brooklyn is coming off a 133-128 win at Milwaukee last night. Despite the win, the Nets are just 2-4 in their last six. Brooklyn is now 40-40 on the season, 18-22 on the road, 43-37 against the spread and 41-39 with the over. The Nets are sixth in the East right now, tied with Orlando for the sixth and seventh spots. D’Angelo Russell is leading the team with 21.2 points and 7.0 assists per game while Spencer Dinwiddie is adding 17.0 points and 4.5 assists per contest.
Pacers fall to Celtics
Indiana is coming off a 117-97 loss at home to Boston on Friday. That snapped a two-game winning streak for them. The Pacers are now 47-33 on the season, 29-11 at home, 40-40 against the spread and 45-35 with the under. Indiana is fifth in the East, locked into no lower than that spot. They trail Boston by 1 game for fourth.
The Pacers are the league’s top defense, giving up just 104.3 points per game while holding opponents to 45 percent shooting. Offensively, Indiana is putting up 107.8 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field. Darren Collison is questionable to play tonight due to a groin injury. Bojan Bogdanovic is leading the team with 18 points per game while Domantas Sabonis is adding 14.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Brooklyn
The Nets are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 conference games.
Indiana
The Pacers are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six against Atlantic Division opponents, but 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games against a losing team.
Prediction:
This is a big game for both teams, but I give the edge to the Pacers. Indiana is at home and Brooklyn just isn’t playing consistently well. Indiana has won and covered the spread in both meetings this season already and I think the Pacers defense will be the difference today. Indiana is still playing a respectable level of play despite the loss of Victor Oladipo and I expect them to grind out the cover tonight.
NBA Prediction: Indiana Pacers -3.5
