Blue Jays’ Sanchez allows three runs in no-decision vs. Nationals
Aaron Sanchez yielded three runs over six innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Friday. While Sanchez didn’t get the win, he now has three straight quality starts. He matched a season-high with eight strikeouts while allowing six hits and a pair of walks. He also threw a wild pitch which allowed a run to score in the fifth. Sanchez has been better recently, but he still owns a disappointing 4.35 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 14 starts this season.
Angels’ Skaggs exellent over seven in win over A’s
Tyler Skaggs allowed two unearned runs in an 8-4 victory over the Athletics on Friday. Skaggs did allow two unearned runs, as Nolan Fontana’s error with two outs opened the gates for a moment to allow the Athletics to pick up a couple of runs in the fifth. Outside of that inning it was a breeze for the southpaw, and his ERA drops down to 2.81 on the season. We’ll see Skaggs again on Thursday when he faces the Blue Jays.
MLB Betting Trends
Toronto
The Blue Jays are 1-8 in their last nine road games and are 2-9 in Sanchez’s last 11 starts when he faces a team with a winning record.
Los Angeles
The Angels have won five of their last six games at home but have dropped three of their last 10 overall.
Prediction:
The Blue Jays have been bad on the road lately and the Angels have been bad period. I’m avoiding the side here and playing the total. The under is 3-0-2 in Skaggs’ last five starts versus the Blue Jays, is 4-1-2 in the last seven meetings between these two teams in Anaheim, and is 7-3-3 in the last 13 meetings overall.
The Pick: Blue Jays/Angels under 7.5
