According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Cardinal opened as a 2-point home underdog but the line has jumped the fence and now the Irish is a 3.5-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, opened at 55 before being bet up to 56.
The Records
Notre Dame is a near-perfect 10-1 on the season with its only loss coming on the road to Clemson earlier in the year. The Irish is also 7-4 against the spread while the Cardinal is 9-2 straight up and 8-3 against the number. Stanford is 5-1 in its six home games this season.

Notre Dame hasn’t looked sharp the past two weeks, including last Saturday against a Boston College team that has struggled to score all season (the Irish held on to a 19-16 win). They’re also once again banged up, as running back C.J. Prosise is dealing with an ankle injury and cornerback KeiVarae Russell is out with a broken leg. Notre Dame has overcome injuries all season long but this will be a tough hill to climb tonight against Stanford. The Cardinal boasts one of the more underrated players in the nation in Christian McCaffrey, who recorded 389 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns last week against Cal. The Irish won’t go down without a fight but Stanford should eek this one out.
