2011 NASCAR Odds – Kobalt Tools 500 – Stewart Favored By Oddsmakers

AVONDALE, AZ (TheSpread) – Two races remain in the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season and next up is the Kobalt Tools 500 from Phoenix International Raceway.

According to oddsmakers, Tony Stewart is the favorite to win Sunday’s race with 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, and Jeff Gordon, who each have 7/1 odds.

Stewart is 3 points behind Edwards for the points lead. He has four wins on the year, all of which have come in the Chase for the Championship. His average finish this season is 12.6 and his driver rating is 93.9. At Phoenix, Stewart has one win and seven top 5’s in 19 races. His average finish is 11.7 and his driver rating is 98.1, which ranks seventh in the series.

Edwards leads the standings and has one win with 17 top 5’s on the year. His average finish is 9.7 while his driver rating is 99.1. At Phoenix, Edwards has one win and five top 5’s in 14 races. His average finish is 13.0 and his driver rating is 99.6, which ranks fourth in the series.

Johnson is sixth in the point standings, 55 points out of first. Johnson has two wins and 14 top 5’s on the year with an average finish of 11.3 and a driver rating of 100.4. At Phoenix, Johnson has four wins and 11 top 5’s. His average finish there is 4.8 while his driver rating is 121.8, which is best in the series.

Gordon is eighth in the series, 81 points out of first. Gordon has three wins and 12 top 5’s on the year with an average finish of 12.7 while his driver rating is 97.1. Gordon has two wins at Phoenix with 10 top 5’s and an average finish of 10.0 and a driver rating of 103.3, which ranks second in the series.
