On July 6, Johnson was dismissed from the FSU football team after video of the freshman quarterback punching a woman in a bar went viral. Johnson’s attorney later said that racial slurs precipitated his client’s punch but Johnson rejected the notion on Good Morning America.
“It doesn’t matter [about that],” Johnson said. “What matters is that I shouldn’t have raised my hands to her. I should have walked away.”
Johnson also admitted to Michael Strahan of Good Morning America that he should have walked away before things escalated.
“Well you’re right, there is no explanation for that, I totally should have walked away,” he said. “I’m sorry. If I could do I all over again I would.”
According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Seminoles are currently 20/1 to win the 2016 College Football Championship.
