Even though it’s only the preseason, Carolina is coming off a rough loss after the Giants beat them 24-17 last week on a last second fumble recovery-turned-touchdown. The Panthers’ starters got little work, as quarterback Jake Delhomme didn’t attempt a pass and running back DeAngelo Williams rushed just six times for 29 yards.

Miami had better luck in its preseason opener as the Fish defeated the Jaguars 12-9 last week at Land Shark Stadium. Starting quarterback Chad Pennington was 4-of-7 for 38 yards, while Ricky Williams rushed 10 times for 31 yards. The Miami defense also held Jacksonville to just 66 yards on the ground.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Panthers 2-point road underdogs, while the over/under total has been set at 33.5.

The trends favor the Dolphins and the under in this game, as Carolina is just 1-5 against the spread after a game with a touchdown margin of –3 or worse and Miami is 7-1 under in August.

NFL Preseason Week 2: Panthers at Dolphins Odds & Over/Under Totals
