Jaguars at Eagles Odds
The much-anticipated debut of Michael Vick is finally here, as Vick’s new team, the Philadelphia Eagles, host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night at 7:00PM ET.
After spending 23 months in prison for federal dog-fighting charges and being released by the Atlanta Falcons, Vick signed a one-year contract (with a team option for a second year) with the Eagles after Philly’s first preseason game two weeks ago. Now head coach Andy Reid says Vick will make his debut tonight against the Jaguars.
Both teams are off to a rough start so far in preseason, as they’ve each lost their first two games. The Jags lost their opener in Miami 12-9 and then lost 24-23 last week at home to the Buccaneers. The Eagles were victims of a 27-25 loss to the Patriots in their first week, then dropped a 23-15 affair to the Colts in Week 2.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Eagles 7.5-point home favorites over the Jags. The over/under for this contest has been set at 37.
The trends heavily favor the Jaguars in this game, as Jacksonville is 7-0 against the spread on the road in preseason in their third game and Philadelphia is 1-7 ATS in non-conference games.
