St. Louis managed to win despite losing the turnovers battle 3-1. The St. Louis defense had pressure on the Seahawks all game, creating six sacks while holding Seattle to 343 yards of offense. Aaron Donald led the defensive effort with nine tackles, two sacks and three tackles for loss. Nick Foles had a promising debut with the team at quarterback as he threw for 297 yards and one score.
The Redskins started the year with a 17-10 loss at home to the Dolphins. Washington was a 4-point underdog for the game and it went under the 45.5-point total. The Skins had a 349-256 edge in total yards, but they committed two key turnovers and allowed the game-winning score in the fourth quarter on a punt return. Kirk Cousins was 21 of 31 passing for 196 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while Alfred Morris rushed for 121 yards on 25 carries.
