The rivalry of West Virginia takes place on Friday as the No. 23 Mountaineers head to Marshall to take on the Thundering Herd at 7PM ET.

West Virginia is a 12-point favorite against Marshall according to oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com. The over/under has been set at 47.
This is the first lined game of the season for the Mountaineers, but WVU is 5-1 against the spread as a road favorite of 10.5-to-14 points since 1992. During that span, WVU is also 29-20 ATS as a road favorite. Also in that stretch, the Mountaineers have hit the under in 19-of-31 games as a road favorite.
Marshall failed to cover the spread against Ohio State last weekend while the over hit. The Thundering Herd are 11-13 against the spread in all lined games over the last three season and also 4-6 ATS in home games during that time. The Herd has also hit the under in 16-of-24 lined games over the last three years.
Marshall was not impressive in the season opener against Ohio State and the Herd should continue to have troubles against the rushing attack of West Virginia. WVU has won nine meetings with Marshall by an average of 33 points. This game shouldn’t be much different. We like the Mountaineers to run wild and win comfortable while the under also sticks.
