Florida is a 15-point favorite at home against South Florida according to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com. The over/under has been set at 49.5.
Florida is 0-1 against the spread this year while hitting the under as well. The Gators are 4-1 ATS since 2008 as favorites of 10.5-to-21 points and 18-9 ATS in all lined games. Florida is also 16-8 ATS in games played on grass. Since 1992, Florida has hit the under 69 times to the over 59 times as a favorite.
This week is the first lined game of the season for South Florida. The Bulls are an underdog of this size for just the second time since 2008, and the Bulls covered in the previous matchup. Still USF is just 5-7 ATS in road games and 10-13 ATS in all lined games since 2008. In 18-of-31 games since 1992, the Bulls have hit the under where it is an underdog.
Florida is getting a nice line given the history of the two programs. While Florida was shaky to say the least last weekend, they have gotten that poor performance out of them and they are 8-2 against the spread following a ATS loss the week before. We like Florida to come out and make a statement against the Bulls, covering the spread while hitting the low point total.
