Michigan will look to get its first 3-0 start since 2006 on Saturday when the Wolverines host Eastern Michigan at Noon ET from

Michigan Stadium.

The Wolverines defeated rival Notre Dame last weekend 38-34 behind the strong quarterback play of true freshman Tate Forcier. Forcier threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 70 yards and a 31-yard touchdown run in the win over the Irish. Michigan back in the national title picture. Mathews finished with five catches for 68 yards while Brandon Minor rushed for 106 yards on 16 carries with one score. The Wolverines did have a letdown defensively in the win, as they allowed nearly 500 yards of offense to the Irish a week after shutting down Western Michigan 31-7.

Michigan forced just one turnover and was held without a sack last weekend.

Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez when Rodriguez took over the

Michigan job two years ago. EMU lost to Army 27-14 in its season opener, and then lost to Northwestern 27-24 on a last-second field goal by the Wildcats. EMU trailed 24-10 to Northwestern, but rallied in the fourth quarter behind a 25-yard touchdown pass from Andy Schmitt to Jacory Stone and a 3-yard touchdown run by Terrence Blevins. Dwayne Priest rushed for 129 yards in the loss, while Schmitt finished with 148 yards through the air on 20-of-28 passing with two interceptions. The Eagles defense also forced three turnovers in the game.
