Chris Sale dominated on Friday night, picking up the second shutout of his major league career in a masterful performance versus the Rays. He allowed just two hits over nine innings and now sits at 2-0 with a 2.38 ERA and a 0.79 WHIP to go along with his 23-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
As for the Rays, a couple of their players look lost at the plate right now, including Steven Souza. He struck out in all three of his at-bats against Sale and now owns a 13/2 K/BB ratio through 32 plate appearances. Kevin Kiermaier was also diagnosed with a head contusion after a collision with teammate Logan Forsythe during the loss.
OUR PICK: Chicago is 4-1 in Danks’ last five starts versus the American League East and are 4-1 in his last five starts after scoring two runs or less in their previous game. On the other side, the Rays are 1-6 in Ramirez’s last seven starts and winless at 0-4, respectively, in both his last four home starts and his last four outings versus the American League Central.
