Rousey (9-0) had won her first eight fights by submission due to armbar, but she was able to defeat Sara McMann (7-1) with a TKO on Saturday night. The two Olympic medalists came out swinging, and McMann landed some very solid punches early on. The key to the fight came in the clinch, where Rousey worked in some devastating knees to the body. One knee caught McMann right in the liver, causing her to collapse, which led to the stoppage in the first round. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rousey was the favorite to win, as she had odds of -400 to prevail, which means a wager of $400 on her to win will pay out an additional $100.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card saw light heavyweight Daniel Cormier (14-0) run right through Patrick Cummins (4-1), defeating him by first round TKO in just 1:19. Cummins took the fight on less than two weeks notice and was the heavy underdog. He looked overmatched on his feet from the start, as Cormier landed a pair of big uppercuts and quickly finished Cummins with a flurry of strikes. According to oddsmakers, Cormier was the heavy favorite to win, as he had odds of -1100, which means a wager of $1100 on him to win will pay out an additional $100.
