UFC 170 will take place from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a bout for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship as Ronda Rousey (8-0) defends her title against Sara McMann (7-0). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rousey is the favorite to win, as she has odds of -400 to prevail, while McMann has been given odds of +300 to prevail. Rousey has been a dominant champion, winning all eight of her fights by submission via armbar. She was finally taken past the first round in her last fight against Miesha Tate. Rousey is a former Olympic bronze medalist in judo, while McMann was an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling. She won her first UFC fight by first-round TKO and is more of a grinder than Rousey, who tends to attack and hit the armbar quickly.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a light heavyweight clash between unbeatens Daniel Cormier (13-0) and Patrick Cummins (4-0). According to oddsmakers, Cormier is the heavy favorite to win, as he has odds of -1100 to prevail, while Cummins has a money line of +650 to win. Cummins is such a heavy underdog because he is taking this fight on less than two weeks notice. Cummins has a strong wrestling background and has wrestled against Cormier before, which provides some intrigue into the bout. Cormier is a much-more veteran fighter and has faced some of the top heavyweights in the world. He is making his 205-pound debut after winning his last two UFC fights at heavyweight. He has a strong wrestling background and has been able to control most opponents with his grappling.
