UFC on FUEL TV 8 will take place from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan with the main card bouts airing live on Fuel TV at 10PM ET on Saturday night.
The main event of Saturday’s international event is a light heavyweight clash between Wanderlei Silva (34-12-1) and Brian Stann (12-5). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Stann is the favorite coming into this bout, as he has odds of -250 to win, while Silva has been given a money line of +200 to prevail. Both men are powerful strikers and both have a number of impressive knockouts in their career. Silva is better with submissions on the ground, but Stann should have the grappling advantage. The key to this bout will be which fighter can take a punch. Stann has shown that ability, while Silva has been knocked out a few times toward the end of his career.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a heavyweight clash between Stefan Struve (25-5) and Mark Hunt (8-7). According to oddsmakers, Struve is the slight favorite in this bout, as he has odds of -180 to win, while Hunt has been given a money line of +150 to prevail. Hunt is much shorter than Struve, who stands 7-foot-0, but Hunt is much more compact and packs more of a punch. The key for him will be to get inside the long range of Struve. Despite a poor record, Hunt has won three straight and he has solid submission skills on the ground. Struve has won four straight bouts, all by stoppage. Typically his length is best suited for fighting off his back, but he has been able to land some big punches as of late and earn a few knockouts.
