UFC Fight Night 30 will take place from Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England with the main card bouts airing live on the new FOX Sports 1 at 3PM ET on Saturday.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a middleweight clash between Lyoto Machida (19-4) vs. Mark Munoz (13-3). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Machida is the favorite in this fight, as he has odds of -360 to win, while Munoz has a money line of +270 to prevail. Machida is a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion and making his debut in the middleweight division. Munoz has won five of his last six and one of the top middleweight fighters in the UFC. Munoz relies on wrestling for his wins while Machida is a karate striker with great strength. With this fight being five rounds, a clear winner should be determined.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a lightweight bout featuring Melvin Guillard (31-12-2) and Ross Pearson (15-6). According to oddsmakers, Guillard is the favorite to win, as he has odds of -145 to prevail, while Pearson has a money line of +115 to win. Guillard is an explosive striker that has 20 KO victories in his career and tends to start fast and fade late. Pearson has won two straight entering this bout and he is more of a grinder, using his boxing and clinching to tire opponents. The longer the fight goes, the more it favors Pearson.
