UFC 167 will take place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a bout for the UFC Welterweight Championship as Georges St. Pierre (24-2) defends his title against top contender Johny Hendricks (15-1). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, St. Pierre is favored to retain his title, as he has odds of -260 to win, while Hendricks has a money line of +200 to prevail. St. Pierre has been champion since 2008 and has won 11-straight fights. His wrestling and striking mix have been tough for opponents to stop, but he is someone that plays it safe, as he has won his last six fights by decision. Hendricks has won six straight to earn the title shot, with three of his wins coming by KO in under two minutes. He has big power in his hands and a wrestling background to keep the fight standing. This will be his first five-round fight.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a light heavyweight clash between Chael Sonnen (28-13-1) and Rashad Evans (18-3-1). According to oddsmakers, Evans is the favorite to win, as he has odds of -190 to win, while Sonnen has been given odds of +155 to win. Both men are wrestling-based fighters, but Evans uses his wrestling to keep the fight standing while Sonnen wants to grind out opponents on the ground. The key to this fight will be if Evans can keep the fight standing, or if Sonnen will make Evans fight off his back.
