UFC 159 will take place from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.
The main event of Saturday’s card is a battle for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with champion Jon Jones (17-1) defending his title against Chael Sonnen (27-12-1). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jones is the clear favorite to win this fight, as he has a money line of -950 to win, while Sonnen comes in with odds of +650 to win. Jones is looking to defend his title for the fifth time and facing Sonnen, who is making his return to light heavyweight after losing his shot at the middleweight championship. Jones will have a clear size and length advantage on Sonnen, who will be relying on his wrestling to win, but nobody has been able to out-wrestle Jones thus far.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card is also a middleweight bout between Alan Belcher (18-7) and Michael Bisping (23-5). According to oddsmakers, Bisping is the slight favorite, as he has a money line of -170 to win, while Belcher has been given odds of +140 for this bout. Both men rely on their striking to win fights. Bisping is technically strong and uses good footwork to work his jab. Belcher tends to come with more of a muay thai style, featuring knees and kicks. Bisping certainly has the experience edge on Belcher, but Belcher may have the better punching power.
