Aldo (22-1) and Edgar (15-4-1) put on an impressive show, going a full 25 minutes before Aldo earned the win. The champion had a dominant first round, picking Edgar apart. More of the same continued in the second round, but as the fight went on, Aldo slowed down and Edgar picked up steam. It appeared that Edgar was controlling the fight for the final two rounds, but he couldn’t finish Aldo, which allowed the champion to get the decision. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Aldo came into the bout with a money line of -220 to win, which means a wager of $220 on him to win will pay out an additional $100.
The co-main event of Saturday’s card saw Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (21-5) defeat Rashad Evans (17-3-1) by unanimous decision. The fight was quite uneventful for the full 15 minutes, as neither man was able to land any big strikes or takedowns. Nogueira just managed to land a few more strikes and look like the better fighter. Evans looked very stagnant and attempted few takedowns, which were his strength going into the bout. According to oddsmakers, Nogueira had odds of +355 to win this bout, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $355.
