NEW YORK, NY (The Spread) – National League East rivals square off tonight in New York as the Mets will host the Nationals at 7:10PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mets are +108 money line home underdogs versus the Nationals, who are -117 money line road favorites. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 7 runs.
The Nationals are 25-4 in their last 29 games in New York and 40-13 in their last 53 games overall versus the Mets. They’re also 4-1 in their last five games following a loss, 8-1 in their last nine games when their opponent scores two runs or less in their previous game and 19-9 in their last 28 games overall.
On the other side, the Mets are just 1-5 in Bartolo Colon’s last six home starts, 1-4 in his last five home starts with the total set between 7 and 8.5 games, and 2-5 in his last seven home starts versus a team with a winning record. They’re also 0-6 in their last six Thursday games and 2-5 in Colon’s last seven home starts versus a team with a winning record.
As for the total, the over is 11-4-3 in the last 18 meetings between these two teams so from a trends standpoint, the Nationals and the over look like solid bets tonight.
