The 32-year-old Oswalt was 6-12 despite a 3.24 ERA for Houston. He is a three-time All-Star and will join a rotation that includes Roy Halladay.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com currently list the Phillies at 5/1 to win the 2010 World Series and 5/2 to win the National League.
