MONTREAL (AP) Goalie Carey Price has a lower-body injury and will miss the Canadiens’ game against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.
The team made the announcement, but did not disclose the severity of the injury to last season’s regular-season MVP and Vezina Trophy winner as best goalie.
Price is 7-2 with a 2.01 goals-against average this season for Montreal, which leads the Eastern Conference.
Price was in goal Thursday in Edmonton when the Canadiens blew a 3-0 lead and lost 4-3.
Rookie Mike Condon will make a second consecutive start, and Dustin Tokarski was recalled from St. John’s of the American Hockey League to be the backup.
Condon is 3-0 with a 1.67 GAA and a .944 save percentage. He was in net for Montreal in a 6-2 win in Calgary on Friday night.
