Andrei Vasilevskiy surrendered three goals on 41 shots in Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Vasilevskiy was very good at times on Tuesday, but ultimately caved under a relentless offensive attack by Carolina which netted three goals far more on volume than efficiency. The star netminder kept a clean crease during the first period, but second-period goals by Martin Necas and Tony DeAngelo — plus a third-period goal by Sebastian Aho — ended up sinking him for the loss. Vasilevskiy had limited the opposition to two or fewer goals in three straight starts before missing the mark on Tuesday. Up next on the schedule for Tampa Bay, a Thursday matchup with the Bruins.
Boston Bruins DFS Spin
Patrice Bergeron (elbow) was on the ice for Wednesday’s practice and could be back in the lineup on Thursday night versus Tampa Bay. “It’s good that he’s back on the ice, has been. He’s got an appointment tomorrow morning. We’ll have a much better idea when we sit down tomorrow morning at this time whether he gets cleared or not,” said coach Bruce Cassidy. “Put him as probable.” Cassidy added that a better understanding of Bergeron’s availability will come Thursday afternoon. The Bruins captain has missed the past three games following an infection in his elbow that required surgery.
