Public Betting Information

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, the Bruins and Maple Leafs are both listed as a pick’em at -110 on the moneyline. The total is set at 6 goals. As of Thursday morning, 83 percent of public bets are pouring in on visiting Boston. Check out our NHL Public Betting Page for the latest information.

Veteran Marleau comes through in big game

With Toronto staring at a 2-0 deficit returning home, it needed a veteran calming presence to make a couple big plays. Left winger Patrick Marleau did exactly that for the Maple Leafs as he registered a pair of goals as the hosts won 4-2. Marleau tallied 27 goals and 20 assists during the regular season, while these were his first two points of the postseason after he was held scoreless in the two losses at Boston. Auston Matthews scored the game-winner in Game 3, while Marleau’s second goal helped put it away.

Both Bruins goals come from defensemen

The Boston forwards couldn’t get anything going in Game 3 as the Toronto defensive gameplan stifled them for the duration. But the Bruins did receive a couple goals from its defence as Zdeno Chara and Adam McQuaid each put one between the pipes. The duo combined for only eight goals during the regular season, although both missed some time with injuries. The Bruins will need a better effort from its forwards tonight or else the series is likely to be evened up at 2-2.

NHL Betting Trends

Boston

The Bruins are 0-5 in their last five road games. Boston is also 0-5 in its last five meetings in Toronto.

Toronto

The home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings. The over is 3-0-1 in the last four meetings.

Prediction

Toronto was much more composed in Game 3 and was lifted by its home crowd. I think it can happen again versus a Bruins team that has struggled in recent meetings at Toronto and on the road in general.
