The Sabres are the No. 3 seed out of the Eastern Conference while the Bruins come in as the No. 6 seed. Buffalo is the slight favorite heading into the series.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have given Buffalo a betting line of -180 to win this series while Boston has been given a +150 line.
Buffalo comes into the playoffs with 100 points as they were the Northeast Division champions. The Sabres had the fewest points of any divisional champion and actually rank fourth in points among Eastern Conference playoff teams. Buffalo racked up 45 wins on the year and scored 235 goals while allowing 207. The Sabres won five of their last 10 games heading into the playoffs. The Sabres have won three conference titles, the last of which came in 1999, but Buffalo has never won a Stanley Cup title.
The Bruins come into the playoff with 91 points thanks to 39 wins. The Bruins scored just 206 goals on the year, which is the fewest of any playoff team. The Bruins allowed just 200, which ranks second fewest in the NHL. The Bruins won six of their final 10 games. Boston has won five Stanley Cup titles, the last of which came in 1972. The Bruins haven’t won the Eastern Conference title since 1990.
