Super Bowl Game Props
When it comes to Super Bowl XLIV, there isn’t a situation in the game that you can’t bet on. Here is a look at the 2010 Super Bowl Game Props.
The Indianapolis Colts enter the game as 5-point favorites over the New Orleans Saints according to online sports book Sportsbook.com. The Over/Under for the game has been at 55.5.
Looking at the list of props, there are some betting options that stand out.
One to look at is the team to score first winning the game. The betting lines are Yes at -195 and No at +155. We suggest looking at No. In the last eight Super Bowls, the team to score first has lost the game five times. With this game have the chance to have a lot of explosive offensive, the team that scores first doesn’t really mean much. If this was a battle of two strong defenses, it would hold more weight.
Another bet to look at is will the Saints score a Touchdown in the First Quarter. The early gut feeling might look at the Saints offense and say yes, but stats show the Saints are not a fast-starting team. On the year, they average just 5.3 points in the first quarter and on the other side, the Colts are allowing just 4.1 points in the first quarter. The Colts have only given up three points in two playoff games in the first quarter. With the betting line for No at -135, you can make some money with this bet.
A bet to also look at is Total Third Down Conversions for the Saints. The Over/Under is set at 5.5. Now in this bet, overtime conversions and conversion because of penalties don’t count. During this season, including the playoffs, the Saints have gone over the total 11 times in 18 games. Now, in many of the games that the Saints didn’t cover, they simply didn’t have many attempts or the games had become meaningless. In this game, the Colts defense is certainly going to be a tough one and the Saints will be faced with many third down situations. If the Saints are to contend, they will have to convert third downs, that is why we suggest going with the over in this bet.
