The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams, while the Bucs are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Atlanta. The road team is also 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook BroburySports.com have made Atlanta a 9-point favorite at home against Tampa Bay on Sunday. The over/under has been set at 45.5.
The opening spread also opened at -9 for Atlanta. The odds dipped down to 8 during the week before moving back to 8. The over/under opened at 45.5 and fell as low as 44 during the week before coming back to 45.5.
The Falcons are coming off a bye last week and at home this season, Atlanta is averaging 32 points per game while giving up just 17.6. Matt Ryan has thrown for 1,714 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season while Michael Turner has 587 rushing yards with three scores and Roddy White has caught 54 passes for 747 yards and five touchdowns. Curtis Lofton is leading the defense with 58 tackles and two sacks while John Abraham has six sacks.
Tampa Bay is the biggest surprise this season at 5-2. The Bucs have won two straight since a 31-6 loss to New Orleans. Tampa Bay has won four of its five wins by three points or less. Josh Freeman has thrown for 1,533 yards and eight touchdowns this season while LeGarrette Blount has been a big boost lately, rushing for 222 yards and three scores in four games. The Tampa Bay defense is being led by Barrett Ruud, who has 53 tackles.
Falcons defensive end Abraham is probable to play with an ankle injury while cornerback Dunta Robinson is probable after his concussion a few weeks back. Tampa center Jeff Faine is questionable with a quad injury while running back Earnest Graham is out with a hamstring injury.
Over 17,800 public bets have been placed on this game with Tampa Bay getting 60% of the wagers at +9 against Atlanta.
