Before we get to our pick for this game, let’s take a look at the latest odds.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Saints 4-point favorites over the Bucs in Week 6. The over/under total is currently 44 points.

The Saints enter Sunday with a 3-2 record, but are just 1-4 against the spread this season. In two road games this year, they’re 1-1 overall but 0-2 against the spread, which includes last week’s outright loss to the Cardinals as 6.5-point favorites.

The Bucs, on the other hand, have been outstanding against the number. They’re 3-1 overall and 3-1 against the spread, although they failed to cover in their last home game against the Steelers (a 38-13 rout).

The Pick:

The NFC South is an interesting division. Generally speaking, the Bucs usually give the Falcons trouble, while the Falcons play the Panthers tough and the Panthers play the Saints tough. The Saints, meanwhile, usually give the Bucs trouble, which their 6-2 ATS record in the last eight meetings in Tampa can attest. The underdog in this series is 11-5 against the spread in the last 16 meetings, but something has to give with the Saints. Their banged up, but if they don’t shoot themselves in the foot with dumb mistakes and turnovers last week, the outcome would probably had been different.

The road team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams and we think the Saints are a value at 4.5 despite the way they’ve played of late. Our pick is New Orleans –4.
