Ravens vs. Patriots Free Pick

Perhaps the biggest game in the NFL this week takes place in Foxboro where the Patriots will host the Ravens in a rematch of last year’s AFC Wild Card round. Read on to check out our pick for this Week 6 battle royale.

Before we get to our free pick for this game, let’s take a look at the latest point spread.

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Patriots 2.5-point favorites over the Ravens in Week 6. The over/under total for this game is currently 45 points.

The Ravens have started the year off strong, winning four of their first five games. They’re also 3-2 against the spread, which includes a 2-1 road mark against the number.

The Patriots have been just as good overall while winning three of their first four games (they had a bye in Week 5), but they’re just 2-2 against the spread, including 1-1 at home.

The Pick:

It’ll be interesting to see how the Patriots cope without Randy Moss, whom they traded to Minnesota last week for a third round draft pick. They did acquire Deion Branch from the Seahawks earlier this week, but he can’t do what Moss does on the field.

That said, our pick is New England despite Baltimore’s success against the Patriots in last year’s opening playoff round. The home team in this series is 4-1 against the spread in the last five overall meetings between these two teams and the Raves are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last five trips to New England. You also can’t discount the revenge factor in this game, as Bill Belichick and company will certainly be focused after Baltimore handed it to them last year.
