Redskins vs. Eagles Predictions
Donovan McNabb returns to his old stomping grounds this weekend when his Washington Redskins invade Philadelphia to take on the surging Eagles at 4:00PM ET. Let’s take a look at the matchup and make a prediction for this big NFC East game.
Before making a pick on this Sunday’s game, let’s take a look at the odds first.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Eagles 6-point favorites over the Redskins in Week 4. The over/under total for this game has been set at 42.5 points.
After beating the Cowboys in their opener, the Redskins have lost two straight games in rather embarrassing fashion. They couldn’t protect a fourth quarter lead against Houston in Week 2 and then lost to the Rams on the road last week, which was the first win St. Louis had at home in over three years.
The Eagles, on the other hand, have been soaring (pun intended). Michael Vick is 2-0 as the starter and while he hasn’t faced a tough defense to date, he’s been outstanding regardless of the opposition. He’s putting up Pro Bowl numbers every week now and more importantly, he’s taking care of the football.
Picks & Predictions:
The Redskins are 1-4-1 against the number in their last six games overall and 0-3-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The Eagles are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games versus a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in October. While it would appear that the Redskins are getting too many points here, my pick is the Eagles. Philadelphia has the superior team and I think we’re starting to see the real Washington team – not the one that played inspired football in Week 1. The Eagles will be jacked to face their former quarterback and while the feeling is mutual, sometimes when a player gets too emotionally wrapped up in a game, he performs worse.
