Ravens vs. Steelers Free Pick
The biggest battle in the NFL this week resides in Pittsburgh as the Steelers host their AFC North rivals the Baltimore Ravens at 1:00PM ET. Let’s take a look at this marquee matchup and hand out a free pick.
Before we make a pick on this game, let’s take a look at the odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Steelers 1-point favorites over the Ravens in Week 4. The over/under total for this matchup is 34.5.
No team in the NFL is playing better than the Steelers right now, who, even without Ben Roethlisberger, is undefeated thanks to the play of their outstanding defense. They absolutely crushed the Bucs as 3-point favorites last Sunday in Tampa and can now run their record to 4-0 with Big Ben set to return next Sunday.
The Ravens took a step forward offensively last weekend in their win over the Browns, but a step backwards defensively by allowing Peyton Hillis to run over them throughout the day. Baltimore failed to cover for the second time in as many weeks.
Picks & Predictions:
Charlie Batch threw for three touchdowns last Sunday, but that was against a depleted Bucs team without free safety Tanard Jackson. Can Batch do that again this week with the speed that the Ravens have up front? At some point, the Steelers will be victimized by the play of their quarterback and unless Batch can sip out of the fountain of youth for the second straight weekend, I like the Ravens +1 for my pick to click in this game. Pittsburgh’s secondary is still a small weakness and with the way Anquan Boldin has terrorized cornerbacks up to this point, he should make a couple of big plays in this game to give the Ravens the edge.
