Game Preview:

Perhaps no team is playing as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers are right now, as they’ve won their first three games despite the fact that their starting quarterback is serving a suspension. Charlie Batch led the Steelers to their third straight win last week by throwing for three touchdowns, although he’ll certainly face a tough challenge this Sunday at home.

The Ravens’ defense didn’t play particularly well against the Browns last Sunday, although Baltimore still earned the win. Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin got the offense on track, however, after two lackluster performances in the first two weeks (the entire offense that is – not Boldin, who has been great all year). The Ravens need a win to keep pace with the Steeles in the AFC North.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Steelers 1-point favorites over the Ravens in Week 4. Below is a preview of Sunday’s game.

Line Movement & Updated Odds:

The Steelers opened as a 1.5-point underdog, but the line has swung in the other direction and now Pittsburgh is a favorite. They were –1, but the line has gone all the way up to Steelers –2.5, while the over/under has stayed steady at 34.5.

Best Trends:

The over could be a strong play in this game. The over is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams in Pittsburgh and 6-1-1 in the last eight meetings overall. The road team is also 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five meetings and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six meetings overall. That said, the Ravens are 0-3-1 ATS in their last four meetings with the Steelers.

Game Injuries:

Tackle Jared Gaither (back) is out for the Ravens, as is receiver Donte Stallworth (foot). Ray Rice was able to practice on Friday, but he’s questionable with a knee injury, while Matt Birk (back) and Todd Heap (shoulder) are both probable. The Steelers are relatively healthy, although guard Trai Essex (ankle) could miss another game and quarterback Dennis Dixon may be placed on IR soon with a knee injury.

Public Betting Information:

As of this morning, 50% of the 26,523 wagers that have been placed on this game favor the Steelers -2.5.
