Vikings vs. Redskins Odds
The Washington Redskins look to get over the .500 mark on Sunday when they take on Minnesota, which is playing its first game without Brad Childress.
The Vikings are 3-7 on the year and 0-5 on the road while the Redskins are 5-5 on the year and 2-3 at home. Trends show that Washington is 8-2-4 against the spread in their last 14 games on grass while the Vikings are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made the Vikings a 1-point favorite on the road against the Redskins. The over/under has been set at 44. (View Matchup)
Opening odds had Washington favored by 2.5 points. The spread quickly dropped as the Vikings let go of Childress and put Leslie Frazier in as head coach. The spread was up to Minnesota at -1.5 before settling in at -1. The over/under total opened at 43 before moving up to 44.
Minnesota has dropped two straight, including a 31-3 loss to Green Bay last weekend, which caused Childress to get fired. The Vikings have won just one of their last five games. They have allowed at least 24 points in six of their last seven games. Brett Favre has thrown for 2,274 yards and 10 touchdowns, but has 17 interceptions. Adrian Peterson rushed for 980 yards and seven touchdowns as well.
The Redskins are coming off a 19-16 win at Tennessee last weekend. The Redskins have had seven games this season decided by six points or less. Washington has struggled to be consistent on offense as Donovan McNabb has thrown for 2,642 yards and 10 touchdowns to go with 12 interceptions. Clinton Portis will be lost for the rest of the season after aggravating his groin injury. Portis rushed for just 227 yards and two scores on the season.
In terms of injuries, Minnesota defensive back Eric Frampton is questionable with a hamstring injury while Washington running back Ryan Torain and safety LaRon Landry are both out with injuries.
Over 19,800 public bets have been placed on this game and Minnesota is getting 58% of the wagers at +1 against the Vikings.
