Analysis

Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Bucs a 7-point favorite over the pitiful Panthers, who will once again start rookie Jimmy Clausen under center. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart are also both out for Carolina, which is why the public feels as though Tampa Bay will roll over their NFC South rivals in Week 10.

The Eagles are 3-point road favorites against the Redskins on Monday night. The public must like the fact that they only have to lay a field goal with the better team, which is playing a Washington squad in turmoil after coach Mike Shanahan benched Donovan McNabb two Sundays ago in Detroit. But weary of the home dog on Monday Night Football.

The inconsistent Texans are taking on their inconsistent AFC South foes the Jaguars on Sunday. Houston has gone downhill since the first two weeks of the season, but the public still sees a lot of value in them today because they basically have to win outright to cover. The Texans are only a 1-point dog against a Jaguar team that was crushed at home by Tennessee three Monday nights ago.

Speaking of the Titans, the public is likely enamored with their acquisition of Randy Moss last week and has decided to back them against a Dolphins team that has yet to win at home this year. The Titans are getting 1-point today but just like Houston, a straight up win gets the public a cover.

The Chiefs should have won and covered last week for bettors but they allowed a fluke reception at the end of the fourth quarter against Oakland and then lost in overtime. Still, the public likes Kansas City’s chances against a Broncos team that gave up 59 points to the Raiders the last time they played in Denver.
