Lions vs. Bills Odds
The Buffalo Bills look to finally get their first win of the season on Sunday when they host the injury-riddled Detroit Lions at 1PM ET.
Buffalo is 0-8 on the season and 0-4 at home while the Lions are 2-6 this year and 0-4 on the road. The Lions have covered the point spread in their last five games while the Bills are 2-6 against the spread in their last eight as a home favorite.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Buffalo a 2.5-point favorite at home against the Lions on Sunday. The over/under has been set at 44.
Opening odds had Buffalo favored by 3 points and that spread has dipped slightly, moving back to 2.5. The over/under total opened at 42.5 but has steadily made the climb up to 44 during the week.
The Bills havenβt won this season but their last three games have been decided by 3 points. Just three losses this season have been by double digits for Buffalo. Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown for 1,499 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season while Fred Jackson has rushed for 313 yards and two scores. Steve Johnson has caught 41 passes for 554 yards and six touchdowns as well. Donte Whitner is leading the defense with 73 tackles on the season.
The Lions are coming off a 23-20 loss to the Jets last week. Detroit led 20-10 in the fourth quarter but lost kicker Jason Hanson and quarterback Matthew Stafford to injuries. Stafford may be out for the remainder of the season after a shoulder separation to his throwing arm. Backup quarterback Shaun Hill has thrown for 1,309 yards and nine touchdowns in replace of Stafford this year while Jahvid Best has 345 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Calvin Johnson has caught 39 passes for 551 yards and eight touchdowns while Ndamukong Suh has 30 tackles and seven sacks while Alphonso Smith has five interceptions.
Hill will start at quarterback for the Lions on Sunday despite having suffered a broken arm to his non-throwing arm a few weeks ago. Kicker Jason Hanson is out for a few weeks with a knee injury while defensive end Cliff Avril is questionable with a leg injury. Buffalo tackle Cord Howard is doubtful for Sunday with a shoulder injury.
Over 13,300 public bets have been made on this game and Detroit is getting 57% of the public wagers at +2.5 against Buffalo on Sunday.
