According to reports, Kerry Collins is likely to start over Vince Young this Sunday against the Dolphins. Titans’ coach Jeff Fisher said Young will test his injured ankle on Sunday but Collins took all the first-team reps in Friday’s practice in preparation to start. Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Titans a 1-point favorite over the Dolphins.
Big news out of Minnesota as Sidney Rice is expected to make his 2010 debut on Sunday against the Bears. The decision won’t be finalized until Sunday morning, but Rice will be activated to the 53-man roster and barring any setbacks, he will be on the field in Chicago. In other Viking injury news, Percy Harvin (ankle/migraine) has officially been listed as a questionable for Week 10, although he did practice on Friday. The Vikings are a 1-point favorite.
The Colts’ injury woes continue at receiver, as Blair White (shoulder) missed the team’s practice on Wednesday and Thursday and is questionable for Indy’s home game against the Bengals. If he can’t go, undrafted rookie Brandon James (a third-down back and a return specialist) may start.
There’s a chance that Redskins’ running back Clinton Portis will be active for Monday night’s game against the Eagles. Portis has been limited with a groin injury, but Ryan Torain (hamstring) is banged up too and Washington could use the running back help. Washington is currently a 3-point home dog against the Eagles.
Texans’ tight end Owen Daniels has officially been ruled out for Houston’s game against the Jaguars. He’s been battling a hamstring injury and hasn’t practiced in the last two weeks. The Texans are currently a 1-point underdog at Jacksonville.
The Giants will be without Steve Smith for their game against the Cowboys. He’s out with a strained pectoral muscle and Mario Manningham will replace him in the starting lineup. The G-Men are a 13.5-point favorite over Dallas.
Jaguars got some bad news on 2010 free agent acquisition Aaron Kampman, who is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee during practice on Thursday. Kampman tore the ACL in his left knee almost a year ago to the day.
The hits keep on coming for the Panthers, who will be without running backs DeAngelo Williams, Jonathan Stewart and Tyrell Sutton for their game against the Bucs on Sunday. Carolina is currently 1-7 on the year and likely heading for 1-8 as all three of its running backs are out, as well as quarterback Matt Moore.
